Mint Error - Weakly Struck. NGC MS 69 First Day Issue in Black Core.
But this isn't just any common Silver Eagle with a Mint Error. This is a very special Eagle.It is known as the Emergency Issue. And by the way, there is NO mint mark on this Eagle.
The coin you are considering has been designated with a "MINT ERROR - WEAKLY STRUCK" notation on the NGC label. It was graded by NGC a MS69...The highest possible grade for a Mint Error. I have taken several pictures of the coin from various angles so the weak strike can be seen. The rims seem to be higher on the surface of the coin on both sides. You might see something totally different. But remember, this is a 69 and not a 70.
And, it is an error coin where there was a weak strike. The "Weak Strike" attribution is more rare, while other errors are more readily available. Please be advised that coin will have milk spots and "grayish" areas on both sides of coin. Again, it is a 69. You're likely interested in this coin for its error rarity.
