In the top of the coin are minted the words "HAKiMiYET MiLLETiNDIR (Dominance is the nation) & the name of the Turkish capital "ANKARA. Reverse: the legend "TÜRKIYE CUMHURIiYETi" (Republic of Turkey) is engraved in the centre of a wreath of oak leaves and rye bells. A little below is the year of the establishment of the Turkish Republic "1923", followed by the two digits which, when added to the year of the founding of the Republic of Turkey (1923), give the actual year of minting (1923 + 20 = 1943).
